The Caps opened up their season at home yesterday with a huge 6-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Before the game, the Caps walked a red carpet, posing for pictures and signing autographs for fans.
One tiny Caps fan got a huge surprise when he was invited to join Brett Connolly on the red carpet.
Luckiest 7 yr old in the world had his red carpet debut with Brett Connolly! Thank you for being so kind to my son @bconnolly8 ❤️ #ALLCAPS pic.twitter.com/kgb0tLshh2

Joy Conway, RMNB reader and mother of the little Caps fan, told us how her son Calvin got the opportunity to join Connolly in front of the cameras.
“We got a call from our Caps season ticket rep earlier this week to be one of the Caps escorts for this event. We didn’t know my son would get to walk with until they called him up to the front of the carpet. Brett Connolly was SO nice to him- my son was on cloud nine 🙂 At the end of the carpet they had a backdrop set up where we could take pics and video. So, so fun!”
Seven-year-old Calvin also got to cheese with Connolly on the red carpet.

He looks like Connolly’s tough-guy sidekick.

And of course, Connolly showed us once again that he’s a class act by tweeting the the adorable mother-son pair and expressing how nice it was to meet them.
So nice to meet you guys. Hope you guys enjoyed the game.
