Ed Sheeran wore a Caps jersey during his concert in DC (Photos)

The Caps won 4-2 in Montreal against Canadiens on Wednesday night, with Devante Smith-Pelly making his scoring debut for Washington. Meanwhile, at Capital One Arena, none other than two-time Grammy winner Ed Sheeran was rocking the red.

Spenser Smallwood noted that singer-songwriter came out wearing the jersey for the concert’s encore.

Sheeran wore the sweater on the second night of a two-night stint in DC, playing back to back concerts at Capital One Area on Tuesday and Wednesday.

We’re sure most fans appreciated Sheeran’s gesture. It’s not everyday you get to see an international sensation rocking your favorite team’s jersey.

Sheeran last performed in DC in 2015, when his concert was attended by Tom Wilson and Nicklas Backstrom. After the show, Wilson gifted Sheeran a sleek custom Caps jersey.

It doesn’t look like that’s the jersey Sheeran wore tonight, but it’s still awesome that he wore one at all. I think the red complements his hair quite nicely.
