The Caps have announced that forward Alex Chiasson will attend Capitals training camp on a professional tryout agreement. Chiasson most recently played for the Calgary Flames, where he scored 12 goals and added 12 assists through 81 games in a fourth line minutes. He is an unrestricted free agent.

After attending Boston University, Chiasson played 320 NHL games for Ottawa, Dallas, and Calgary. He has 50 goals and 56 assists in his career, playing mostly fourth line minutes. His last contract earned him $800,000 against the salary cap.
The Caps have also signed Jyrki Jokipakka to a tryout agreement. Former Caps forward Brooks Laich will attend camp with the LA Kings.
