Evgeny Kuznetsov found himself bored and shirtless in a Chelyabinsk tattoo parlor on Friday. Naturally, he decided it was time to go live on Instagram to broadcast his thoughts and answer some fan questions while going under the needle.
According to Kuznetsov, he wanted to have add some color and make some corrections to a tattoo from last summer, which he said didn’t quite turn out the way he wanted. Kuzya got some new tats last summer on his left arm, and it appears they were the subject of the updates yesterday.
Kuznetsov spent most of the roughly 6-minute video answering short questions from fans. Where are you? “Chelyabinsk.” Where’s Ovi? “I dunno, Moscow, probably.”
Kuznetsov also spoke at length of his apparently deep love for lulya kebabs, a delicious traditional Central Asian and Russian meat dish of ground lamb and spices molded onto a skewer and cooked over an open flame.
Some of the content was more serious, however. Responding to a query about when he expected to sign a new contract with Washington, Kuznetsov frowned and said, “I can’t say anything definitively about that right now.” [Ed. note: Kuzya used the Russian word “положительно”, which could mean either ‘positive’ or ‘definitive,’ depending on the context. Here it seemed clear that he meant the latter.]
Another kind fan asked, When are you going to get the Stanley Cup? As Kuznetsov was poised to answer, the tattoo artist chimed in with a retort: “When is he going to get the Stanley Cup? When they give it to him, that’s when!”
Both men burst out laughing. Your results may vary.
