Alex Ovechkin stripped down and jumped in a suspended wooden tub of scalding hot water, all in the name of good fun Thursday.
Ovechkin, who traveled to Sochi with his wife Nastya, ended his evening at Bansk — an exclusive Russian bayna (sauna) and day spa.

“Thank you Bansk.ru for a great time!! I recommend it to anyone in Sochi!” Ovechkin wrote on Instagram as translated by Graham Dumas.
Ovechkin covered his, uh, full Ovechkin in the photo with a bunch of strategically placed birch branches. As every banya-enthusiast knows, birch branches are essential for a full banya experience. The fancy stick and leave concoction is first steeped in hot water and then used to literally beat the dirt and toxins out of a patron.
The banya costs 15,000 rubles an hour for groups of up to five.
Ovi and Nastya also posted several videos on their Instagram accounts of the stunning view from the mountains.

Earlier in the week, Ovechkin joined one of his best friends, rapper T-Killah, at a Moscow banya. T-Killah let it slip that the Russian machine was preparing for his wedding ceremony this summer. Wednesday, we first reported that Ovechkin was auctioning off an appearance dressed up as Darth Vader to raise money for a sick child.
