Evgeny Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin score 27 seconds apart to give Caps 4-2 lead

Headed into the third period, the Caps were down 2-1. Their backs were against the wall and facing elimination.

The Caps proceeded to score three unanswered goals to start the stanza, including back-to-back goals from Evgeny Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin 27-seconds apart.

Kuznetsov scored on a rebound, tossing the puck home from no angle.

Kuzy’s celly was tremendous.

Alex Ovechkin goal

Ovechkin followed Kuznetsov’s tally up on the very next shift, scoring off his own rebound.

The two goals combined to be the fastest in Capitals postseason history since 1992.

Kuznetsov’s goal would end up being the game-winner.
