As we collectively breathe a sigh of relief that the Caps won Game Four and tied the series 2-2, Leafs fan and Sportsnet contributor Steve Dangle sat down to discuss what went wrong for the Leafs in his Game Four LFR.
Dangle dissects some of the difference-making moments of the game, including the failed save by Andersen that led to the Caps’ 5-3 lead. When Dangle discusses Ovechkin’s lovely goal from the Ovi Spot, Dangle describes Ovi in my new favorite way: “a loaded gun on skates.”
Dangle devotes quite a bit of time to explaining why he’s thrilled with this series so far: it’s been really hard. Both teams are getting just about everything possible thrown at them, and anything is possible at this point. But that’s precisely the reason that whichever team makes it through will know that they have truly proved themselves against some of the fiercest competition in the NHL.
We just hope it’s the Caps.
