On Thursday, the US military dropped a MOAB on Afghanistan and, the day before, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
There were a lot of important things to ask Press Secretary Sean Spicer about during his daily afternoon briefing, which is why I’m confused he got asked about hockey.
With the NHL playoffs just started, will the President cheer for the Rangers or Caps?
Sean Spicer: “Respectfully, that’s really not been a subject that’s come up too often in the White House.”
The question was asked by TVA’s Richard Latendresse.
.@RichLatendresse Spicer answers were 1) Nil 2) Won't use term Axis Of Evil to describe Iran/Assad/Russia 3) Don't know what hockey team Trump cheers for

You can watch the full briefing here.
In the past, Trump has gone to Rangers games with his wife Melania.
He’s also been captured sitting by celebrity Will Arnett.
This is the first time I recall a White House Press Secretary talking hockey since seven years ago, when a Washington Post reporter asked Robert Gibbs if Barack Obama would go to a Caps game.
S/T to Allison Stancil and @jgoodling13 for the heads up.
RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
