The Washington Capitals could clinch the President’s Trophy for the second straight year with a win over the Toronto Maple Leafs and a Penguins loss.
The Caps scored the game’s only goal against the Leafs in the first period after Lars Eller tallied his twelfth goal of the season. It came off a stunning cycle by the Caps’ third line.

According to CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Craig Laughlin, this is basically perfect execution of the pinwheel cycle.
Lars passes to Brett Connolly. Connolly passes to Andre Burakovsky. Then Burakovsky passes back to Eller for the one-timer goal.
Beautiful.
