Back on March 8, the NHL general managers met in Florida to discuss several topics, one that involved the decision not to make each team’s protected list for the Vegas Golden Knights’ expansion draft public in June.
On Wednesday, the NHL Public Relations team announced that the protected and available list will be made public among their distribution to the teams on a to be determined date.
UPDATE: Protected & Available Lists for Expansion Draft will be made public simultaneously with their distribution to the Clubs. Date TBD.

One of the more exciting parts of adding a new team revolves around the draft and there were many, many complaints around not making these lists public. It seems the NHL listened.
Although, we already know who the Caps are protecting, of course.
Next up, let’s get this draft televised!
