Live from #RMNBX: Caps beat Habs 3-2

Live from #RMNBX at Iron Horse, here comes a halfhearted recap of the Caps win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Heyyy how about Jay Beagle, wrapping up a slick sequence from the bald-faced Daniel “Danny” Winnik. That same line surrendered a turnover that gave lycanthrope Alex Radulov a goal of his own. No worries, as Andre Burakovsky restored the lead with a lovely finish.

Nick Backstrom (update:sorry) cracked the screen for his 15th of the season in the third. Patches made it close for the Habs with a wristshot 8 minutes into the final frame.

    Caps beat Canadiens 3-2!

    • We had a lengthy delay in the first period as a chunk of the boards, presumably manufactured in Canadia, withered upon contact with burly American heels.
    • Pierre McGuire is nice in real life. Do with this information what you will. We will remain as independent and critical of his luminous and incisive  criticism as we have always been.
    • Nobody tell him about the shirt.
    • Radulov had a second goal as long as the league retroactively legalized bodyslammed goalies.
    • The Caps’ depth wrecked house as per usual, with Brooks Orpik and Jay Beagle among your possession leaders.
    • Even with two against, Braden Holtby was predictably superb. Some big saves, especially on shorthanded chances, kept this from getting out of hand. It’s also worth noting that Holtby and his rugged handsomeness seems more sincere, more authentic than Carey Price and his cleanshaven dimples.
    • Only two players got chants: Holtby and Nate Schmidt.

My deepest thanks to everyone who hung out at Iron Horse. We had a wonderful time. Let’s do it again soon.

Hey what did Joe B’s suit look like today?
