And then those meanies Andre Burakovsky and Jay Beagle had to be bullies, which led to a curious series of events.
First, Andre Burakovsky scored with a weird move that shouldn’t have worked, but it did.

With two goals allowed on three shots, Ken Hitchcock had seen enough. He summoned Allen to the bench and sent Carter Hutton on instead.
Allen did not go to the locker room. He did not take off his helmet. He just sat there, and — um — is he crying?!

The timeout did not last long. Like a big boy, Allen returned to the net 2:22 later to face his tormentors once more.
