This game is going to be lit. Not only is this a match-up of two elite NHL teams in the same division and two Vezina Trophy winning netminders, but there are also some serious stakes at hand. The Jackets come to town looking to tie the NHL’s longest win streak of 17 games and give themselves a shot at breaking the record set by the 1993 Pittsburgh Penguins. Caps and Jackets games are normally chippy so strap in.

Storylines
- Andre Burakovsky basically guaranteed the Caps will end the Jackets’ streak tonight. So, no need to watch!
- Caps goalie prospect Ilya Samsonov and Team Russia crashed out of the World Junior Championships with a shootout loss to Team USA in the semi-finals.
- How’s that Caps PP coming along?
- So, some of the Caps use electrical current machines to help stay in shape and it’s really weird.
- The Hershey Bears had an incredibly entertaining practice shootout with added controversy. Also everyone say WELCOME MADELINE again, this is her first post on RMNB.
- We’d be fine with the Caps just paying Tom Wilson to butt-slash TJ Oshie every night if it meant moar TJ goals.
- Here are all SIX goals that the Caps scored against the Leafs and the ensuing celebrations of said goals.
- Dmitry Orlov was pretty damn good against Toronto, per his usual self and Pat highlights a few plays he made that helped make a difference in the game.
- Alex Ovechkin is doing more record breaking stuff. Yawn.
- Auston Matthews is the savior that USA Hockey needs and he’s awesome.
- Evgeny Kuznetsov was fined $2,000 for embellishment. He makes that much in about one shift.
