Etihad Airways and Monumental Sports & Entertainment came together in a big way to help surprise a fellow Caps fan and famed badass hockey stick handler, Fatima Al Ali.

Fatima has better hands than most Caps players.
Caps Alum Peter Bondra sat at Kettler Capitals Iceplex on December 13th to video conference to Fatima in the United Arab Emirates at the Etihad Airways Headquarters.
After Fatima expressed her disdain for surprises to the head of corporate communications, Amina, Bondra appeared on the screen and let Fatima know how great it was to see her again and how impressive her skills were when he visited Abu Dhabi last month. Then they had a surprise for her.
“When we talked, I remember you told me your favorite player is Alex Ovechkin and your favorite team is the Washington Capitals,” Bondra said. He then turned the presentation over to Amina.
“We’re going to have three things for you,” Amina explained as she pulled a Washington Capitals jersey out of her bag. “One is you’re going to have two business class Etihad tickets from Abu Dhabi to Washington D.C. You’re going to have two tickets to see the game in Washington.”
Bondra explained that February is a month to celebrate ‘Hockey is for Everyone’ and he believes Fatima would be the perfect ambassador for this mission during her visit.
“Hopefully, [you’ll] meet Alex Ovechkin and whole team,” Bondra continued. “I hope you be able to show some skills to Washington Capitals players.”
Fatima could not stop crying.
We agree and can’t wait to see Fatima cheering on the Capitals.

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
