Back so soon? Tonight the Caps complete the second half of a back-to-back in Raleigh after beating Chicago last night 3-2 in OT.
The Carolina Hurricanes currently sit last in not only the Metropolitan division, but also the entire NHL with just three wins on the season. They are currently amidst a three-game losing streak and just placed their number one defenseman Justin Faulk on injured reserve. However, they always seem to find a way to play the Capitals tight.
Puck drop is at 7 PM on CSN+, because the Wizards need to lose on the main network. Tonight’s game is also streaming on CSNmidatlantic.com & the NBC Sports app.

Storylines
- North Dakota’s Shane Gersich, a Caps 5th round pick in 2014, scored an unbelievable spin-o-rama goal last night.
- Hershey lost to Albany, but at least Jakub Vrana, Travis Boyd and Stan Galiev all scored.
- Are you a CSN-Mid Atlantic subscriber? If so, you can stream Caps games on your devices starting tonight.
- If you weren’t around much yesterday you may have missed some locker room hi-jinx involving Nate Schmidt and Alex Ovechkin.
- Marcus Johansson is back in sole possession of the Caps point lead and now tied with Alex Ovechkin for the team goals lead after his rocket to win the game in OT against the Blackhawks.
- Jay Beagle had quite the night. The Caps are now 25-1-5 when he scores.
- If you didn’t already know, TJ Oshie and Karl Alzner are fantastic human beings.
What’s on TV? Part deux.
Yesterday, I advocated the show Westworld to my fellow TV lovers, but today I come to you with yet another Cerullo approved program.
Black Mirror. A series that was picked up by Netflix in 2015 after two seasons that the New York Times says, “features speculative fiction with dark and sometimes satirical themes that examine modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of new technologies.”
Different cast, setting, and even reality in each episode. All good stuff.
Say cheese
I feel like we may have had this discussion before, but I need to make sure I’m updated on everyone’s top five cheeses. It’s paramount. Mine are as follows:
- Mozzarella
- Ricotta
- Parmigiano-Reggiano
- Provolone
- Asiago
No obvious cultural bias here… What say you readers?
