BETHESDA, Md. – Nov. 11, 2016 – The Washington Capitals’ march toward the 2016-17 Stanley Cup Playoffs will be available in more places and on more screens than ever before as CSN Mid-Atlantic has announced that its live-game coverage, along with gameday shows Caps GameTime and Caps Extra, will be available to stream live on CSNmidatlantic.com and the NBC Sports app beginning Saturday, Nov. 12 at Carolina (7 p.m.)
The live Capitals coverage will be available to authenticated CSN Mid-Atlantic subscribers on desktops, tablets, mobile devices and connected TVs anywhere in the United States. The new service supports NBCUniversal’s “TV Everywhere” initiative, which gives consumers additional value and makes high-quality content available to authenticated customers both in and out of the home, and on multiple platforms. Powered by Playmaker Media, the NBC Sports app is available on Apple iOS, Android and select Samsung devices, as well as on Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Win10, and Xbox.
CSN’s addition of Capitals streaming follows the introduction of live Washington Wizards streaming in 2014, which has experienced significant gains in consumption over the last two seasons. This season, CSN is scheduled to stream live coverage of more than 140 combined Capitals and Wizards games, as well as more than 100 hours of gameday shows.
“CSN is proud to deliver comprehensive, top-quality coverage of the Capitals before, during and after games, so we are pleased to now offer that content on more platforms,” said CSN Mid-Atlantic President Rebecca Schulte. “The Capitals’ passionate, dedicated fans can enjoy another exciting season any way they want, wherever they want.”
“We have the best fans in the NHL and we are thrilled to offer them an opportunity to access CSN’s world-class coverage of Capitals hockey on multiple platforms,” said Capitals owner Ted Leonsis. “This move reflects our ongoing efforts to increase exposure of our team and connect with more fans across several mediums.”
This service is available NHL wide on CSN regional sport networks, meaning all local NBC sports networks will be offering it.
