Monday, the Western Hockey League named Caps’ prospect defenseman Connor Hobbs as its WHL Player of the Week for the week of October 31 through November 6.
In two Regina Pats wins, Hobbs recorded a goal and six assists. In a 10-2 win on November 2 over the Kootenay Ice, Hobbs tallied a goal and three assists. Two days later, the Capitals 2015 fifth round pick received three more assists in a 9-6 win over the Saskatoon Blades.

Hobbs, our twelfth ranked Caps prospect, was signed to an entry-level contract this past summer and will be eligible to join the Hershey Bears upon completion of his current season in Regina. Hobbs has recorded 80 points in 126 career WHL games.
Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Regina Pats defenceman Connor Hobbs has been named the WHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 6, 2016.
Hobbs registered seven points (1G-6A) in two games to help the Regina Pats go 2-0-0-0 at home this past week.
On Wednesday, November 2 versus the Kootenay ICE, Hobbs put forth a goal and three assists, earning second-star honours in a 10-2 win. The 19-year-old product of Saskatoon followed up with three assists on Friday, November 4 in a 9-6 win over the Saskatoon Blades.
Hobbs is currently tied for fourth in scoring among Western Hockey League defencemen with 18 points (4G-14A) in 13 games.
The 6-foot-1, 196-pound defenceman was a fifth round pick (143rd) of the Washington Capitals at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He will also be representing Team WHL at the 2016 CIBC Canada Russia Series beginning Monday in Prince George.
Hobbs is in his third full WHL season, having collected 80 points (26G-54A) in 126 career WHL regular season games split between the Regina Pats and Medicine Hat Tigers.
