Tonight, The Washington Capitals open their NHL season against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The team practiced this morning at the newly named PPG Paints Arena where Alex Ovechkin was asked about the Toronto Maple Leaf’s dreamboat and magician Auston Matthews and his amazing night.
“It’s pretty amazing. Those kids, it’s unbelievable,” Ovechkin told reporters. Continuing to describe his reaction, it seemed to go just like the rest of ours. “My friend text me, ‘He score first one.’ Then, ‘he score second one'”. This pattern would then continue on for an additional two more goals. “Like ok, everyone expects that from him. But, he scored four goals. It’s pretty special. He’s a great kid and he’s gonna have a great future.”
