Michael Latta is not playing for the Caps anymore and he keeps reminding us

I recommend unfollowing Michael Latta on Twitter immediately if you don’t want to cry yourself to sleep every night.

Tuesday, the former Capitals forward tweeted this:

Latta meant no harm with the simple hashtag, but Caps fans’ hearts broke all over again when reminded of his move to California to play for the Los Angeles Kings.

Some of the replies to the tweet included:

This isn’t the first time Latta has tweeted about his new organization this summer.

What does he mean he can’t wait to get into his new gear?! Was our red not good enough for him? Michael, do you think black and white is more hip?

He tweeted about someone other than Tom Wilson. They aren’t teammates anymore. Try to wrap your brain around that.

So let’s just reflect on the glory days (last season) instead, when Caps fans were sure Michael Latta would grace them with his presence at the Verizon Center and various other NHL arenas (even if 39 of those regular season games were spent in the press box). Look at how excited he was to get back to DC:

And in case you want some more salt in that wound, Latta’s Twitter icon is still him in his Capitals uniform sitting in the penalty box next to ex-roomie but always-and-forever-brobean Tom Wilson. His natural habitat.

We’re gonna miss you in Washington, Michael, but we wish you all the luck in the world in LA (just not against the Caps).
