Caps fan and five-time Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky threw out the first pitch tonight ahead of the Nationals/Orioles game at Nats Park. The Bethesda native threw a perfect strike down the middle to Shawn Kelley. Before the game, Ledecky said she had practiced with her neighbors. It showed.

Here’s another look at the pitch from the AP’s Stephen Whyno.

The best part was Ledecky got an assist from Bryce Harper. The Nats’ superstar outfielder held Ledecky’s medals while she did her thing.
That's really cool. Katie Ledecky handed her medals to Bryce Harper before throwing out her first pitch! #Nats pic.twitter.com/HybEAuhpeC

This is amazing.
When you have too many Olympic medals so you have to ask the MVP to hold them while you throw out the first pitch. pic.twitter.com/m6w8l02m5n

Before the game, Manager Dusty Baker came out and greeted Ledecky in the dugout.

“They all wanted to see how heavy [the medals] were,” Ledecky said of the experience. “It’s kind of different feeling for me to have [Nats players] be a fan of me when I’ve been a huge fan of theirs for a couple of years.”
Most Valuable Medal-Holder. Thanks @bharper3407 and @nationals for a great night!
