TJ Oshie shares the Caps’ lead in postseason goals (5) with Alex Ovechkin. Some may say Oshie’s improved finishing ability is due to hard work or being more clutch. I think it’s due to his new pregame ritual.
Let me explain.
All season long, Michael Latta and Tom Wilson have been getting themselves psyched for games by bodychecking each other during warm-ups. I’m guessing it’s an effective way to get the blood going (or maybe they’re masochists). Later in the season, Jason Chimera joined in on the fun.
Now Oshie has some figurative skin in the pain game too, but it’s… odd.
During warm-ups, Latta and Wilson have ben slashing Oshie in the buttocks. Sometimes it looks like it doesn’t hurt.

Other times he falls over doubled over in pain.

good outcomes of saturdays game:
i got a puck from wilson
i watched latta and wilson smack oshie's butt with their sticks again.— erin tweets (@erinteats) May 1, 2016
And the roles have reversed some games too. Oshie has slashed Wilson in the booty.

On top of slashes, Oshie ends warm-ups in a peculiar way too. He sprints down the tunnel to the locker room.
Oshie did this during his time with the Blues as well.
When Oshie goes flying into the tunnel! LGB LGB👌👌👌👍👍👍 pic.twitter.com/CoowyTsYOc
