The Capitals beat the Red Wings 3-2 in a shootout Tuesday on the same night Mike Green returned to Verizon Center. Justin Williams scored in the game’s first minute to record his 600th career point, and Alex Ovechkin tied the game in the 3rd period with his 13th goal of the season. T.J. Oshie and Evgeny Kuznetsov both scored in the shootout to ensure the Caps moved back into first place in the Metropolitan Division.
