Dmitry Orlov is on 🔥. He’s got three goals in his last three games. His latest tally was thanks to a fantastic array of tiny plays by Evgeny Kuznetsov.
Watch as Kuznetsov digs his skates into the ice and stops on a dime. He then skates up towards the blue line and gives a soft pass to Orlov. As the Russian defenseman gathers in the puck, Kuznetsov skates right through the eye path of goaltender Michael Hutchinson. Orlov shoots and scores.
Also, what a great screen by Justin Williams.
According to the Caps PR, Orlov has tallied a point in a career-high four-straight games (11/19-11/25: 2 goals, 2 assists).
During the second intermission, Orlov told Al Koken of the goal, “I get a shot and it goes through.”
After the game, he told Chuck Gormley, “That’s Russian hockey,” and winked.
Well put.
