The Capitals kept up their franchise-best start on Thursday by beating the Boston Bruins 4-1 at Verizon Center. Brooks Laich and Karl Alzner scored their first goals of the season, with Michael Latta getting his first point, handing the Bruins their first loss on the road this season. Alex Ovechkin got his 7th goal of the season, moving closer to becoming the highest Russian-born goal scorer in the NHL, moving to 482 goals, one behind Sergei Fedorov’s record of 483.
