Wednesday night, the Washington Capitals lost to the Carolina Hurricanes in the shootout 4-3. The biggest moments of the game included a fancy Alex Ovechkin goal and a mind-blowing shootout tally by TJ Oshie.
That wasn’t the only notable thing Oshie did. Midway through the game, according to @Canes_Gameday, the former Blue delivered a questionable hit to Joakim Nordstrom. That hit set off a small fracas, where the Canes’ Brad Malone tried to go after Oshie. Brooks Laich intervened and dropped the gloves with Justin Faulk.
I love Laich’s leadership here, but that face should not be punched.
Here’s video of the incident from RMNB reader Anna.
Don’t fight Brooks, not your forte. #hockey #capshockey

Crisis averted. We’re happy to report Laich remains handsome. He stayed upright for about three seconds.

This was Laich’s sixth professional bout. His last fight occurred 1,317 days ago on February 22, 2012. According to hockeyfights.com voters, Laich won a fight against Ottawa’s Zack Smith while the Caps were down 4-0.
Finally, here’s video of Shawn Michaels and Rick “The Model” Martel match at SummerSlam with the provision that they wouldn’t hit each other in the face because they were too pretty.
