For the second time in as many rounds, the Washington Capitals’ season comes down to one game. Tied 3 games to 3 with the New York Rangers, the Caps must win to advance to the conference final for the first time since season two of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, when Buffy had to kill Angel to stop Acathla from swallowing the Earth. If the Caps lose, it’ll probably feel about the same as when Buffy had to kill Angel to stop Acathla from swallowing the Earth.

Caps Fans Meet-up at MSG
From Reader Jeremy, via email:
Hey guys: I will be meeting a bunch of friends at the tunnel where the Caps come up for warmups at 6:45. It would be awesome to have a big group there, given the rangers do it at the booth every night (and most other teams). Would you guys send a shotout for NYC caps fans or DC travellers to meet at the Caps warmup area at 645? I think it would be cool fo rthe players to see a crowd. Thanks!!!
Storylines
- The weight of history means nothing. It’s just sixty minutes of hockey.
- The lines might change. We expect Gleason to play— despite Schmidt’s call-up. Fehr is a possibility.
- These goalies have been simply sensational.
- A pair of great pieces by your boy Neil. Why the Caps will deliver on Ovi’s guarantee, and how to fix the power play.
- Eric Fehr told us all the secret nicknames. The comments on that story are gold.
- Bruce Boudreau is the most winningest coach in hockey.
- And this:
