It took the Washington Capitals nearly 80 seconds, but they did indeed score on a five-on-three powerplay against one of the most dreadful (and undermanned) teams in the league. And tell me if you’ve heard this one before, Alex Ovechkin scored from The Ovi Spot. Hey! Even the Capitals are calling it that now.

Curtis McElhinney, who’s starting in net for injured Sergei Bobrovsky, never stood a chance on this bullet.

This is Ovechkin’s fourth powerplay goal of the season and seventh overall this year. Ovechkin is finally tied for team lead in goals again. He shared it with Marcus Johansson (?) and Joel Ward.

What a weird world we’re living in.
