The Washington Capitals needed a clutch third period goal trailing 5-3 and they got it from Alex Ovechkin.
On the power play, Ovechkin, setting up shop near the left face-off dot, rifled a wrist shot stick side. Everybody knew the shot was coming, but still Antti Niemi could not stop it. The puck deflected off the shaft of his stick into the back of the net.
You guys, Ovi’s already got four goals this season and it’s looking easy.
