Big night for 19-year-old Illinoisan Connor Carrick. Playing in just his second NHL game, Carrick scored his first goal in the big league, a nifty breakaway tally on Calgary goalie Karri Ramo. Carrick’s goal started a big comeback for the Caps, who barely eked out a win in their home opener. For his achievement, Carrick received a commemorative puck and a shaving-cream pie to his dome courtesy of his captain, Alex Ovechkin.
Congratulations, Connor.
