Zach Fucale’s new Capitals mask

Zach Fucale has not been scored on in four consecutive periods to start his NHL career. Now he’ll be really looking like a professional the next time he suits up for the Capitals in net.

Saturday, mask painter Sylvia Marsolais of Sylabrush released the latest mask design for Fucale on her Instagram.

Fucale’s bucket features the Caps logo design from the team’s 2018 Stadium Series game and howling wolves on the side. The mask also features a star on the chin and the Weagle logo on the back.

The motivational quote Create the edge. Win the day. is also included.

Andrei Vasilevskiy takes photo holding new Stanley Cup champions goalie mask beside the Stanley Cup

Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy is now also a Stanley Cup-winning goaltender. And on Saturday, he spent some private time with the NHL’s championship trophy.

In an Inception-like moment, Vasilevskiy posed with the Stanley Cup and held up a new goalie mask which features a lifelike illustration of himself raising the Stanley Cup.

Andrei Vasilevskiy’s new mask will change colors based on the temperature

Lightning goaltender and fellow Russian Andrei Vasilevskiy will be wearing a piece of engineering brilliance this season. Vasilevskiy’s mask will change its colors and design based on the temperature and its exposure to water.

On Friday, the NHL posted video of a water test on the mask’s back plate.
