It’s confirmed. NHL players hate Tom Wilson, but wish he was on their team, too.

The NHLPA released the results of its annual player poll Wednesday, confirming what Caps fans know to be true. Tom Wilson might be easy to hate as an opponent, but he’s still a guy you want on your side.

One question in the NHLPA poll, which surveyed 626 NHL players from all 32 teams, asked which player do you least enjoy playing against, but would like to have on your team?

8.1% of NHL players named Tom Wilson, earning him third place in the league.

It’s official! NHL players hate playing against Tom Wilson, but really wish he was on their team.

When general hockey fans spew hate towards our dear Tom Wilson on social media, Capitals fans usually retort RENT FREE. After that, they usually point out that those angry fans would absolutely love Tom if he was on their favorite team. Now we have confirmation this is true but with real-life hockey players.

The NHLPA released its annual season-ending player poll on Wednesday. One of the questions on the poll was Which player do you least enjoy playing against, but would like to have on your team?

Wilson received 10.7 percent of the vote, good for third place. You’d think he’d be higher, but the rat king, Brad Marchand (26.4 percent), who plays a very sandpaper-y game, and Connor McDavid (18.3 percent), the most skilled player in the NHL, finished ahead of him.

Washington Capitals’ Reverse Retro jersey voted fifth-best by NHL players

The Washington Capitals brought back the Screaming Eagle during the 2020-21 season. Not only did the Capitals’ Reverse Retro jersey sell out quickly, but it polled well with fans too. Now NHL players are showing the design love, too.

On Thursday, the NHLPA released a player poll where nearly 500 players from the league’s 31 teams participated. We learned earlier that Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom were voted to have the best shot and be the best passer respectively.

The players also voted the Capitals’ Reverse Retro jersey fifth-best in the league.

NHL players vote Alex Ovechkin to have best shot, Nicklas Backstrom best passer

The NHLPA released its annual season-ending player poll on Thursday and several Washington Capitals stars fared well. 490 NHL players in total from all 31 teams were anonymously surveyed. The questions ranged from individual player skills, personal fashion, and possible changes to the game.

Alex Ovechkin was voted by players to have the best shot in the league, garnering nearly half the vote (48.95 percent). Ovechkin finished 20.17 percent higher than Auston Matthews who finished second. Meanwhile, Nicklas Backstrom was voted to be the league’s best passer (20.82 percent), narrowly edging out Patrick Kane by a half percentage point.

NHL players vote John Carlson as the second best defenseman in the league

The NHLPA published its annual players poll on Tuesday. 588 different players voted on important topics such as who is the most complete NHL player and who is the worst trash talker.

Two Capitals players got some love on this year’s list: one for his exemplary play and the other for just how dang entertaining he is.
