Mark Borowiecki says he and Tom Wilson once agreed to fake fight: ‘Let’s just tie up and pretend to throw’

Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson is one of the toughest and most feared players in the NHL. But there are times when Tom is more reserved on when he throws hands or not.

Recently retired defenseman and enforcer, Mark Borowiecki, spoke about one of those moments while a guest on the Coming In Hot podcast featuring Brent Wallace, Jason York, and Bobby Ryan.

According to Borowiecki, the two agreed to fake fight during their third and final career bout against each other.

Predators defenseman Mark Borowiecki stretchered off ice after taking awkward hit along boards

Mark Borowiecki was stretchered off the ice after a scary incident with 13:36 left in the second period of a game between the Nashville Predators and Philadelphia Flyers.

The Preds defenseman was the first man in on an offensive-zone dump made by Filip Forsberg and took an awkward hit from backchecking forward Morgan Frost that pinned his head and neck against the boards. The 33-year-old veteran immediately went down and stayed down.

Evgeni Malkin suspended four games for cross-checking Mark Borowiecki in the face

The NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced late Monday night that Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Evgeni Malkin will be suspended for the next four games for cross-checking Nashville Predators defenseman Mark Borowiecki in the face.

Earlier in the day, the NHL announced that Malkin would have a hearing, meaning he could be fined or suspended a maximum of four games.

Imagine Capitals owner Ted Leonsis sitting down in a forced interview with Chandler Stephenson about the future of the Capitals after the team finished in the basement one season.
