Washington Capitals roster heading into final preseason game against Columbus Blue Jackets

The Washington Capitals have just one preseason exhibition game remaining on their schedule and it’ll take place Saturday night in DC. The Caps and Blue Jackets will match up inside of Capital One Arena as final preparations for the regular season get underway.

Saturday morning, the Capitals announced their roster for the game, and as expected the only team regulars missing are those that are day-to-day with injuries like TJ Oshie and Dmitry Orlov.

Alex Ovechkin to lead almost-full Capitals roster against Red Wings in fifth preseason game

The Washington Capitals will play the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday in the first of a pair of home preseason games that will act as the final dress rehearsals for the regular season.

The team announced its roster for the matchup on Tuesday and as expected it’s veteran-laden. Led by captain Alex Ovechkin, the almost full-strength Caps will meet the Wings inside of Capital One Arena at 7 pm.

The game will be back on TV and aired on NBC Sports Washington.

Capitals announce roster for preseason game against Columbus Blue Jackets

The Washington Capitals will play the second half of a preseason back-to-back on Saturday.

The Caps will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena. The game will be streamed live on the Capitals’ website and can be heard on Caps Radio 24/7.

The Capitals dressed a mostly star-studded lineup against the Detroit Red Wings as Alex Ovechkin and Darcy Kuemper made their preseason debuts. Against the Blue Jackets, the second half of the team will dress, but featuring one notable return from Friday: Aliaksei Protas.

Alex Ovechkin will make preseason debut against Detroit Red Wings

The Washington Capitals will play their third game of the preseason on Friday in Detroit and several of the team’s biggest stars will get a jersey.

Caps captain Alex Ovechkin will make his preseason debut against the Red Wings. Joining him making their debuts include TJ Oshie, Evgeny Kuznetsov, John Carlson, and new number one goaltender Darcy Kuemper.

Washington Capitals release preseason schedule

The Washington Capitals announced their 2022 preseason schedule on Friday. The Caps will play six preseason games from September 25 through October 8.

The team will kick off its season with an exhibition at home against the Buffalo Sabres on September 25. The Capitals will also notably play Columbus and Detroit twice.
