Kris Letang asked Marie-Philip Poulin for a photo with his son at NHL All-Star Game

The Elite Women’s 3-on-3 game was one of the highlights of the 2020 All-Star Weekend, with the best of USA and Canada facing off against each other. But before the rivalry and ramped up, the camaraderie and respect between all players were on full display.

As the women’s teams took the ice to warm up for their game, they exchanged hellos, hugs, and shoulder-bumps with the NHL players.

Penguins’ defenseman Kris Letang’s son Alex was on the ice watching the Skills Competition, and Kris took the opportunity to ask for the photo of a lifetime. Marie-Philip Poulin, whose illustrious resume includes two Olympic gold medals, was happy to pose for a picture with little Letang.

Connor McDavid receives a stunning pair of hand-painted skates for All-Star Game

Connor McDavid showed off a pair of hand-painted skates that he received as a gift from hockey equipment manufacturer CCM, Friday. The skates were painted by an artist from Quebec.

The Edmonton Oilers’ superstar opted not to wear the skates at the All-Star Skills Competition as he tried to defend his title in the Fastest Skater Event.

“Thanks for the #NHLAllStar gift @CCMHockey!” McDavid wrote on Instagram. “Going to keep these pieces of art for myself. Ready to go #ALLOUT with my usual set of CCM wheels!”

Watch the full 2020 NHL All-Star Skills Competition including the Elite Women’s 3-on-3 Game

The NHL hosted their All-Star Skills Competition at St. Louis’s Enterprise Center, Friday night. We covered a few newsy items including Tomas Hertl’s Bieber Mask and John Carlson once again hitting triple digits during the Hardest Shot Competition.

John Carlson hits 104.5 MPH on the radar gun in Hardest Shot Competition

John Carlson did not win the Hardest Shot Competition at the NHL’s All-Star Skills Competition but he came pretty dang close.

The Capitals defenseman, who won last year’s event with a 102.8 MPH shot, slapped the puck a career-high 104.5 MPH in his second attempt to briefly give him the lead in the event.

Tomas Hertl dons Justin Bieber mask during breakaway attempt on Jordan Binnington

Tomas Hertl had one of the most fun moments early in the NHL’s All-Star Skills Competition on Friday.

Hertl donned a Justin Bieber mask when he attempted to score on a breakaway attempt against St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington.

NHL announces lineups for All-Star Skills Events, John Carlson will defend Hardest Shot title

The National Hockey League announced the player assignments for the 2020 All-Star Skills Competition, Thursday night. Two of the Capitals’ three All-Stars, John Carlson and Braden Holtby, will be trying to win individual events.

Carlson will try to defend his Hardest Shot title from last season while Holtby will participate in the NHL Save Streak. Carlson won last year’s Hardest Shot competition with 102.8 MPH slap shot. Alex Ovechkin won the year before too with a 101.3 MPH clapper.

Oshie will reportedly be one of the shooters in the Save Streak.
