The Elite Women’s 3-on-3 game was one of the highlights of the 2020 All-Star Weekend, with the best of USA and Canada facing off against each other. But before the rivalry and ramped up, the camaraderie and respect between all players were on full display.
As the women’s teams took the ice to warm up for their game, they exchanged hellos, hugs, and shoulder-bumps with the NHL players.
Penguins’ defenseman Kris Letang’s son Alex was on the ice watching the Skills Competition, and Kris took the opportunity to ask for the photo of a lifetime. Marie-Philip Poulin, whose illustrious resume includes two Olympic gold medals, was happy to pose for a picture with little Letang.

Poulin also chatted with Panthers captain Jonathan Huberdeau and got a playful bodycheck from the Senators’ Anthony Duclair. Blayre Turnbull joined the trio to talk as the Letangs carefully made their way over.

Mitch Marner and Natalie Spooner also took the opportunity to catch up. They previously filmed a video for the Toronto Maple Leafs with Auston Matthews and Laura Stacey.
The Women’s 3-on-3 was a lively game that got the crowd on their feet cheering. Despite the cheers of “USA! USA!” Canada took the win 2-1.
