The Capitals improved their record to 5-1 last night, beating the Canucks in Vancouver for the first time since 2001. The newly nicknamed third line, the Chim Reapers (coined by @averagecapsfan), scored twice. Alex Ovechkin tallied the game-winning goal, his fifth of the season, off a beautiful pass by Evgeny Kuznetsov.

The Washington Capitals’ top line can’t stop scoring. On Thursday they KO’d another hockey team, this time the Vancouver Canucks. It was the first time the Capitals have won in Vancouver’s home barn since Valentine’s Day 2001, and it was all thanks to the Russians. Workers of the world, unite!
Good morning, hockey fans. Thursday’s game between the Washington Capitals and Vancouver Canucks didn’t start until 10 PM and it didn’t end until Alex Ovechkin said it could.
So, this is weird. Jay Beagle and Jason Chimera combined again for an impressive goal, the first of the night but not Beagle’s last. The Canucks returned fire in the second as the Sedins outplayed Brooks Orpik below the goal line to set up Radim Vrbata. A glut of penalties in that period cost the Caps: the Sedins struck again, sneaking a shot past Holtby to give Vancouver the lead.
In the third, Jay Beagle got greasy to get the game tied again. Alex Ovechkin wouldn’t let it stay that way. He scored with five minutes left in rego to restore the Washington lead and win it.

Ah, yes. Just some late-night hockey for the Caps. Thursday night finds the team halfway through their trip through western Canada, a routine road game in Vancouver. Nothing to see here.
Wait. What the deuce.
The Caps visit the Canucks tonight for a 10 PM game in what is often hailed as one of the cooler cities in North America.
Bro, you know how you go into bulking mode and eat a ton more calories than normal when you’re trying to put on some muscle? Do that today, except with caffeine instead of calories. Or just go to bed at your normal time and come back to RMNB tomorrow for a full recap. Or take an evening nap.
