We both fired Bruce Boudreau bowl: Caps beat Ducks 6-4
The Capitals started Saturday’s game in typical relentless offensive fashion, however they wouldn’t end it that way. A game that was once headed to blowout territory eventually became tied in the third period. But, it’s all coming up Caps lately. They got another W.
It all started with an early power play goal from Trendy Jeans Oshie, his 400th career NHL point, assisted by Marcus Johansson and Nicklas Backstrom, his 700th career NHL point. Backstrom scored a goal of his own soon after and Tom Wilson made it 3-0 after a great pass from Daniel Winnik.
In the second, Jakob Silfverberg upset any Braden Holtby shutout hopes, beating Holtby with a sharp angle wrister that went upstairs. Daniel Winnik restored the 3 goal lead with his second shorthanded marker on the year, before Hampus Lindholm would once again make it a 2 goal game, confirmed after review.
Anaheim’s two Ryan’s made the game interesting again. Goals from Kesler and Getzlaf tied the game at 4. Zach Sanford’s first NHL game was a very big one to make it 5-4 late. Marcus Johansson would add an empty netter.
