Lars Eller may no longer be a member of the Washington Capitals, but his connection to the team and the area remains strong.
The Danish centerman, who played parts of eight seasons with the Capitals, scored the team’s Stanley Cup-winning goal in 2018 after sliding a loose puck past Vegas Golden Knights‘ goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury in Game 5 of the NHL’s championship series. With the championship win, Eller became the first Dane ever to win the Stanley Cup and hold his Cup Day in Denmark.
While Eller is now a member of the Ottawa Senators, he will be participating in a local event this summer, giving Capitals fans an opportunity to meet with the legend and get items autographed.
The public autograph signing, hosted by Above Average Graphing, will be held at Eavesdrop Brewery on Sunday, July 12, from 12 to 1:30 pm.
Autograph tickets are $59 each for the signing. Getting an inscription from Eller will cost $20, and Beckett authentication is also available for $10. Tickets can be purchased on the AAG.net website. A detailed FAQ can be read here.
Above Average Graphing will also be accepting mail-in items for signing. Those items are due by Saturday, July 4.
“This is a great opportunity to get your Stanley Cup championship items signed by Eller,” Monk Wells, the founder of Above Average Graphing, said to RMNB. “Many fans behind the scenes have reached out to us asking if we could make Lars available again. We’re so excited we could work it out.
“Just know, none of this would be possible without the amazing support from our entire AAG family. We are beyond grateful for all the support.”
Over the past year, Eavesdrop Brewery and Above Average Graphing have teamed up to bring some of the Capitals’ top stars out for meet and greets, including TJ Oshie, Tom Wilson, Aliaksei Protas, Logan Thompson, and Justin Sourdif. Almost all of the events have sold out, drawing a huge number of fans.
