A wonderful moment happened before puck drop of the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers game, Tuesday night.

As Anthony Beauvillier made his way off the ice after warmups, he noticed a fan wearing a New York Islanders jersey — yes, in the Flyers’ home barn, Xfinity Mobile Arena — with a sign that read “Only Here for Beau #72.” Beauvillier was drafted by the Islanders and spent the first seven seasons of his NHL career there.

Beauvillier handed her his hockey stick as he made his way down the tunnel. The gesture left the fan jumping up and down in excitement.

The surprising support from the stands certainly seemed to give Beauvillier great vibes for the rest of the night.

Snakebit for much of the season, Beauvillier had a primary assist on an Aliaksei Protas shorthanded tally in the second period and scored his 12th goal of the season in the third.

The multi-point night was just Beauvillier’s second of the season.

This season, Beauvillier leads the Capitals at five-on-five in individual expected goals (14.91), individual scoring chances (132), and individual high-danger chances (71). He also has the second-most five-on-five shots with 108.

Beauvillier has recorded 20 points (12g, 8a) in 58 games.
