TJ Oshie’s second round at this year’s American Century Championship went slightly worse than his first and he may have one shot to blame.

The Capitals forward managed to hit a golf ball directly into the cup holder of a spectator’s chair near one of the greens at Edgewood Tahoe. Oshie’s sister-in-law, Ally Cosgrove, caught all of the shenanigans on video.

“Do you see this?” Oshie said. “My ball is in the cup holder.”

After a tournament official drives up in a cart, Oshie is allowed to wrangle the ball out of the cup holder where it was wedged between napkins and a coffee cup. Before taking another shot, he had his brother and caddy, Taylor Oshie, snap a photo of him posing next to the chair.

Fittingly, the chair was American flag-themed for Team USA’s hero at the 2014 Winter Olympics. “I like the chair, though,” Oshie said.

Earlier in the event, former Raiders receiver Tim Brown nailed an actual hole-in-one on the 12th hole of the course. The ace won him a MasterCraft boat worth an estimated $225,000.

In our opinion, Oshie should win at least a remote-controlled version of that same boat for his feat.

Oshie finished the second round tied for 50th place with Raiders receiver Davante Adams and NBA Legend Charles Barkley. He teed off in a group with fellow NHLer Matthew Tkachuk and former Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth.

Capitals defenseman John Carlson played a little better than Oshie, finishing his day tied for 33rd with former Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Carlson played his second round with former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Fox News host/Capitals fan, Bret Baier.

Former tennis player Mardy Fish leads the tournament with NHLer Joe Pavelski and Carolina Panthers receiver Adam Thielen trailing right behind him.
