Jeremy Leipsic, Brendan Leipsic’s 23-year-old younger brother, has been kicked off the University of Manitoba Bisons men’s hockey team for participating in the same vile group text on Instagram.
The news was reported by the Winnipeg Sun’s Scott Billeck.
Jeremy Leipsic, the brother of Brendan Leipsic (and one member of the Instagram group chat that became public yesterday) and a member of the University of Manitoba Bisons men's hockey team, has been booted off the team.

Leipsic was in his second season with the team Bisons after playing parts of three seasons with the Portage Terriers in the MJHL.

The University of Manitoba’s athletic director, Gene Muller, issued this statement to the Sun, via Billeck.
Bison Sports was extremely disappointed to learn of the comments made by the group of prominent hockey players, including one of our own, who were involved in the private group chat that has emerged online. We condemn any such remarks and attitudes as they are offensive, reprehensible, and have absolutely no place in sport or in our programs.
Leadership, respect, and integrity are core values of our Bison Sports community and as a result of this situation, we have taken the action to release the current student-athlete from the program.
Jeremy, a rising junior, played 53 games for the University of Manitoba, scoring 12 goals and tallying 27 points.
Brendan Leipsic is facing possible discipline from the NHL and will have a face-to-face meeting with Brian MacLellan when the Capitals reconvene, according to The Athletic’s Tarik El-Bashir.
