The Caps have hit the road again and are down in Florida to take on the Panthers. The Capitals will be facing off against their former teammate Brett Connolly and there is a high chance of my emotions getting the best of me.
Puck drop is at 7 PM. Your recap will come from Julia!

Captain 4 Richard Trophy
The NHL tweeted out a graphic recently about the race for the Richard Trophy this season. I’d like to personally thank the graphics and social media folks for the Alex Ovechkin photo choice.

Storylines
- It’s that time of the year folks. Movember mustaches are coming in hot and we can already see TJ Oshie is going to work.
- Harpers Ferry Brewing recently released a “Sell the Team” beer. Truly doing the Lord’s work.
- Alex Ovechkin had a fancy schmancy dinner and was named a “friend of the brand” for Hublot.
- There is a Mighty Ducks reboot coming to Disney Plus. I’m very excited for those of you that are excited.
- Ok listen. There is this photo of Radko Gudas and his son meeting Captain. Now, you might think it’s an ordinary cute photo, but I promise it is so much more.
- Brett Connolly thinks things are going to be weird tonight…but, once Tom Wilson hits him? It’ll be fine. Game on.
- Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom trolling Evgeny Kuznetsov during an interview? No shocker here.
- Of course there is a shirt to commemorate the Washington Nationals Zamboni debauchery.
Culture Change
According to The Athletic, now that players in the NHL are making more money, players have started to shift from enjoying a Bud Light to a nice Cabernet. Bruins forward David Pastrnak also mentioned that the switch to wine is because it’s less “fatter” and in the summer, it doesn’t feel as heavy.
I actually really love this story. Just a bunch of dudes geeking out about wine. Heck yeah.
