Friday afternoon, the Washington Capitals announced the re-signing of forward TJ Oshie to an eight-year $46 million contract. The deal will keep the American forward in DC until he’s 38-years-old.
Oshie immediately responded to the annoucement on social media.
“Couldn't be happier to resign [sic] with the @Capitals!! Great city, great organization and even more important great people,” Oshie said on Twitter.

“Oh and Lyla is happy we’re staying too!! #GoCaps,” Oshie added, sharing a video of his oldest daughter celebrating.

Oshie’s wife Lauren also shared a photo of her husband talking on the phone after the deal was reached.
Oshie also retweeted the Capitals official announcement.

He also boosted a mention which pledged more money to raise money for Alzheimer’s research.

Oshie recently participated in the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day. Oshie’s father Tim suffers from the disease.
