Caps Russians do Escape Room Live, barely escape

The Capitals annual Casino Night auctioned off several experiences with the team, all in the name of benefiting the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation.

The highest ticket item of the night was an Escape Room Live with Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Dmitry Orlov, and Devante Smith-Pelly. Monumental Sports Network released video of the event and it was clearly worth every single dollar.

Video

All five glorious minutes of video is worth watching, but if you want some of the highlights, we’ve got you covered on that as well.

Ovi is very confused about everything

Much like his “Guess Who?” showdown with Nicklas Backstrom, Alex Ovechkin clearly didn’t listen to his instructions. He had to clarify what was going on several times. But, hey, he ain’t afraid of no ghosts.

Kuznetsov is stoked to be a Ghostbuster

Evgeny Kuznetsov was having the time of his life. He started off with an excitable high-five, exclaiming “Ghostbusters.”

Kuznetsov got left hanging again.

Kuzy was, once again, dissed by his team as they got pumped up to catch some ghosts.

News at 11: Athletes are competitive

When the gamemaster called encouragement over the radio, Kuzy snatched it up. “Alright, thanks, bye,” he said, as the competitive spirit took him over.

Evgeny Kuznetsov is an epic troll

In order to capture a ghost, the team needed to unlock a safe. They attempted several codes, while Kuzy trolled them by pretending one was correct. “Aw, that wasn’t nice,” the gamemaster chastised.

A winner is you

After successfully completing the room, the team had a little dance party. Must be a Caps thing.

With the group taking almost the full 45 minutes to complete their mission, we might have to pass if we end up needing to remove some ghosts. Maybe next time they can get Leslie Jones to help out? We hear she has some ghostbusting experience.
