A goaltender named Braden Holt was selected in the WHL Draft today

The WHL, a junior hockey league in Canada, hosted its annual bantam draft in Red Deer, Alberta, on Thursday, and I have some big news.

A goaltender named Braden Holt, who wears number 30, was drafted in the 12th round by the Everett Silvertips.

Holt posted a 3.30 goals against average and a .852 save percentage in six games with the 14-years-old and under Detroit Victory Honda team. The five-foot, ten-inch goalie is from Bozeman, Montana, which is kind of close to Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. He has a pretty sick glove hand.

And he’s pretty adorable in general.

Holt, born in 2003, was one of only two players selected in the 12th round, while the rest of the teams passed on picks.

Braden Holtby, who has two extra letters in his last name, also played in the WHL, but with the Saskatoon Blades. Holtby’s father, Greg, did as well decades before.

Braden Holt, just know, everyone here in DC is now rooting for you during your WHL career. Please get drafted into the NHL so the Capitals can sport a goaltending duo of Braden Holtby and Braden Holt.

That would make my life. Just like yours. That is all.
