The Hershey Bears added to their stockpile of depth up front again on Wednesday.
Hershey announced that they have signed forward Kyle Jackson to an AHL contract for the 2026-27 season. Jackson, an Ottawa native, was selected by the Seattle Kraken in the seventh round of the 2022 NHL Draft and turned pro during the 2023-24 campaign.
The 23-year-old forward is a product of the OHL’s North Bay Battalion, with whom he played parts of four seasons. He then spent his first pro season in the ECHL with the Kansas City Mavericks before joining the Pittsburgh Penguins organization in 2024-25.
Jackson has played 14 total AHL games, two with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2024-25 and 12 with the Hartford Wolf Pack this past year. In those games, he has recorded two points (1g, 1a) and 12 penalty minutes.
Jackson has been more productive in the ECHL, representing the Bloomington Bison in the 2026 ECHL All-Star Classic. He recorded over a point per game for the Bison last season, notching 44 points (17g, 27a) in 38 contests. According to the Bears, Jackson’s 140 career ECHL points are the second-most over the last three seasons by a player under 24 entering the 2026-27 campaign.
