While Alex Ovechkin says he’s not making a decision on his NHL future until the summer, the Washington Capitals are making Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins special anyway.

The Caps-Pens matchup not only could end up being Ovechkin’s final game against Sidney Crosby, but it also could end up being Ovi’s final home game of his NHL career.

“Closer look at Sunday’s #Gr8ness rally towel honoring Alex Ovechkin and his historic season,” the Capitals said on social media. “Be there. Be loud.”

The rally towel features moments throughout Ovechkin’s career — from beginning to end — with the word ‘GR8NESS’ overtop. Not only is Ovechkin’s Stanley Cup championship with the Capitals honored, but so is his love of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Subway.

The rally towel giveaway is the latest big-hmm promotion the Capitals have run this season, suggesting this really could be it for The Great 8. The Capitals also brought back paper tickets, but just for this season.

ABC will also air a special feature entitled ‘8 Forever’ ahead of the Capitals’ game against the Penguins on Saturday in Pittsburgh.

The Caps play a home-and-home, back-to-back against the Penguins this weekend.
