Andrew Cristall continued his strong rookie AHL season with the Hershey Bears on Saturday night.
The 20-year-old winger recorded the primary assist on Hershey’s first goal of the game, a Louie Belpedio wrister that floated past Cleveland Monsters goaltender Ivan Fedotov.
Cristall now has 26 points (5g, 21a) in 32 games, which leads the Bears after fellow rookie Ilya Protas went without a point in Hershey’s 3-2 victory over the Monsters.

Cristall is also now tied with Coachella Valley Firebirds defenseman Tyson Jugnauth for the AHL rookie lead in assists (21). Jugnauth is a year older than Cristall and has played in one more game this season. No other rookie has more than 16.
In Saturday’s win, Cristall played on Hershey’s second line with Henrik Rybinski and Matt Strome.
Cristall recently surged up the team and league leaderboards after he went on a nine-game point streak, stretching from November 29 to December 21. During that streak, he had assists in seven straight games and recorded 11 total points (2g, 9a).
The Bears are 17-14-1 this season and sit fifth in the AHL’s Atlantic Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.
