The Washington Nationals released its promotional schedule for the MLB’s 2026 season, and there’s one game in particular we wanted to highlight.
The Nats are holding a hockey jersey giveaway on April 18 for their Sunday afternoon game against the San Francisco Giants. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 pm that day.
According to the Nationals’ ticket page, the first 20,000 fans through the gates will receive the grey, white, and pink jersey inspired by the team’s popular City Connect uniforms.
The jersey features the team’s W logo surrounded by a cherry blossom on each side. A blueprint of the city sits in the background of the grey colored sweaters. The jersey also features pink and white stripes on the waist and each arm, as well as the team’s District of Columbia logo on the left bicep.
The mid-April date comes shortly after cherry blossoms typically bloom in DC between the last week of March and the first week of April.
The hockey jersey giveaway comes on the heels of the Washington Capitals creating Caps/Nats crossover sweaters this past September, which celebrated the teams’ anniversary seasons.
The Nationals also held a hockey jersey giveaway night during the 2024 season. The navy blue sweaters utilized the club’s nickname in a script font.
