Logan Thompson managed to make Tom Wilson feel things with his new mask. Though I’m not sure they’re all good feelings.
Thompson honored some of the greatest players in Washington Capitals history on each side of his new bucket, featuring Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, Peter Bondra, Olie Kolzig, Braden Holtby, and John Carlson. Wilson even got his own spot on the back plate, but he was not presented like the other players.
Thompson, a notorious prankster who zeroed in on Wilson much of last season, picked a photo of the alternate captain having a grotesquely swollen face after taking a Jakob Chychrun shot to the cheek last season.

“Hahahaha you’re too much @loganthompson48,” Wilson commented on a Capitals’ Instagram post.
“@tomwilson you made it,” replied Thompson.
“It’s an honor tho,” Wilson added. “Wouldn’t have been my first choice of picture.”

The mask is just another example of Thompson and Wilson’s priceless dynamic. The two players also had several amusing moments during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, when Thompson made fun of the size of Wilson’s head and the Capitals forward accused the goaltender of not being appreciative enough of his shot blocks.
Thankfully, for us, both players have six years remaining on their contracts with the Capitals.
